I recommend Kazuhiko Ogata's Book Modern Control Engineering, as it is the one I use to study the most. BUUUT I might talk about this and other engineering stuff more in the future tho
On a natural system, errors are bound to happen, as most systems aren't perfectly stable or even stable at all, it's the job of a control engineer to come up with some sort of correction system where the error cancels itself out, be it through adding negative feedback to directly eliminate errors on simple systems, PID to properly control and stabilize eliminating steady state errors in the process, or any other method that better suits the system at hand.
I personally really like this branch of engineering, as it is very much aligned with my own personal tastes like sound design, audio engineering, minecraft redstone/create mod, factorio-ish games in general, programming, dsp. One thing that I find really funny about engineering concepts, is that I generally don't pay any mind to them in classes, until I can associate them to something I like, and it just so happened that Control Systems automatically clicked for me, might be because it is SO actively present in my life that as soon as I got to see my first block diagram, I immediately thought of how I use modulators on Ableton/Bitwig.
